TECHNOLOGY
“ This will be the largest, most capable, outcome-driven engineering organisation in the industry”

that what enterprises actually need is a permanent, accountable workforce combining deep industry expertise with AI fluency.
Three forces explain why this is happening now. First, the shift from experimental to agentic AI has raised the stakes of implementation, since autonomous systems that touch live business processes carry operational and security risks that pilot projects did not. Second, enterprises increasingly want outcomes rather than technology for its own sake, pushing vendors towards engagement models scoped around measurable results rather than billable hours. Third, competition among hyperscalers and services firms has intensified to the point where deployment capability, not model access, has become the differentiator, since most large enterprises can now reach broadly comparable frontier models through several routes.
Firms are exploring several different ways of answering the same underlying question: who actually does the work of making frontier AI real inside the enterprise.
