Asked to pinpoint the moment his interest in technology first materialised, Lutz points to his transition from abstract process consulting into hands-on systems implementation.
“ Being able to implement the processes in a system was maybe the missing link I needed,” he adds.
Despite AI’ s current prominence, Lutz recalls first hearing the term artificial intelligence –‘ Künstliche Intelligenz’ – around three decades ago, long before gen AI entered public consciousness.
“ AI is nothing new – I heard it early enough,” he says.“ But nobody was really engaging with it because it was something that seemed so far away.”
Embedding everyday AI Daimler Truck North America, part of the global commercial vehicle manufacturer, has embedded what Lutz calls“ everyday AI” across its workforce, giving staff the tools required to carry out routine tasks. These range from scheduling and email drafting to summarising documents and preparing presentations, freeing employees from repetitive administrative work.
