This focus on governance is critical, as risk-related concerns – including regulatory compliance( 36 %), difficulty managing risks( 30 %) and lack of a governance model( 29 %) – are the top barriers to Gen AI deployment, according to Deloitte.
Fraser’ s most thoughtful insight, however, addresses the workforce. Drawing from organisational design experience, he warns against using AI simply“ as a way of delivering efficiencies and productivity and staff savings.
“ The calculator has been around since about 1952 or 1953,” he says.“ But yet when you learn mathematics at school, you still learn multiplication tables, long division, multiplication. Why? Because that muscle you need to do complex integrations and build algorithms is the foundational element of learning.”
