AI INFRASTRUCTURE
OpenAI and Oracle secured

4.5 GW power via a

US $ 30bn deal for over two million AI chips

“ We will build and operate more cloud infrastructure data centres than all of our cloud infrastructure competitors."
Training the next generation of AI models requires thousands of specialised chips running continuously for months, while serving these systems to millions of users demands computational resources that dwarf traditional software needs.
The Abilene facility is already delivering results, with Oracle beginning to install Nvidia’ s latest GB200 racks.
Oracle generated US $ 10.3bn in annual revenue from its data centre infrastructure business in 2025, just over one third of the expected value from the OpenAI agreement.
Despite entering the cloud market later than competitors such as Amazon Web Services( AWS) and Microsoft Azure, Oracle has experienced demand growth as companies seek to expand their data centre assets for AI applications.
