How will fans respond to these new features?
Judy Murray:“ Sport fans love to be able to share opinions, they like to be able to look at the momentum swings within something like a tennis match.
I think if I was looking at something like that and thinking, I wonder what happened at the end of that set for it to switch, you can go onto the match chat and find out what happened.
Did the roof close, did somebody roll over on an ankle? So if you haven’ t been able to watch the match, you can actually have an understanding of what’ s gone on to make that momentum swing change.”
Kevin Farrar:“ On Live Match, eventually, we will be able to respond to some of the broader questions people might ask, such as:‘ where can I get strawberries and cream while I’ m on site?’
So far, the model’ s been trained in a very specific domain, which is the match, using the match stats, historic stats all about the players – but ultimately this could be broadened into other areas.”
