Look at your phone. In the last 24 hours, you’ ve almost certainly interacted with advanced image recognition AI. Perhaps you unlocked it with your face, scanned a QR code or watched as social media automatically tagged a friend in a photo. This once-futuristic technology has become one of the most pervasive and practical applications of AI, seamlessly integrating into our daily lives.

Put simply, image recognition teaches a machine to see. The breakthrough came with a specific type of AI architecture, the Convolutional Neural Network( CNN), which mimics the human visual cortex. A CNN analyses an image in layers, first identifying simple features like edges and colours, then combining them to recognise textures and patterns and finally assembling those into complex objects like faces,
