Scale creates implementation challenges The size of IPS creates distinct obstacles that solutions designed for smaller districts often fail to address.“ Companies will come in and provide us with solutions designed for a 5,000- student district, but we have 30,000 students,” Chenzira explains.
Cultural transformation represents a central hurdle in the implementation process. The human dimension extends beyond technical staff to include teachers, administrators, and support personnel, each requiring different training approaches.“ Culture will eat strategy for breakfast on any given morning – the point being, cultivating change is hard.” says Chenzira.

Technology roadmap for education innovation With its technical foundation under construction, IPS is exploring practical applications of emerging technologies in educational contexts. The district plans to implement AI-assisted teaching tools with careful security consideration.“ LLMs can pose a challenge in the tech world when it comes to security, but they also offer the opportunity to reimagine how we teach,” says Chenzira.
IPS is investigating personalised learning platforms alongside virtual and augmented reality applications.“ We’ re particularly focused on personalised learning platforms – the ability for adaptive software to cater to individual learning needs,” Chenzira explains.
