Databricks is riding the crest of a wave. Fresh from its Data + AI Summit in San Francisco, California, US, the organisation recently announced a strategic funding at an eye-watering valuation of US $ 188bn, which is set to include both new and existing investors.
Summit played host to one of Databricks’ s biggest product launches to date: the unveiling of Genie One, an agentic coworker aimed at helping business teams orchestrate workflows and automate work-related tasks.
Genie One is designed to work across a business’ entire information estate. It helps departments like marketing, finance and sales automate and orchestrate their work across data, whether structured or unstructured, analytical or operational – and whether it sits inside or outside Databricks.
Genie One reached general availability alongside related tools including Genie Agents and Genie Code. The wider suite is now offered as native iOS and Android apps, and can be used within everyday tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams – meaning staff can get answers without leaving existing platforms.
