BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY
GERRY GREYLING DISCUSSES SOME OF BU’ S PROUD PARTNERS
As part of managing our estate, we are working with a range of specialist partners who help us run our campuses safely, efficiently and sustainably. As with our digital infrastructure, the common thread is innovation: partners who bring data, automation and increasingly AI to traditionally manual estate functions, helping us improve service quality and the experience of our students and staff while controlling cost and advancing our net zero ambitions. These are not transactional supplier relationships; we treat them as strategic partners and as part of the BU community.
ICS. AI ICS. AI is strategically important to BU because it brings specialist, education-focused AI capability into areas where universities need scalable, safe and responsive digital services. Its SMART platform is positioned around student and staff engagement, workforce productivity and back-office automation, under a governed model for public sector organisations. For BU, this type of partnership supports the practical use of AI to improve access to information, reduce pressure on service teams and provide more responsive support for students, applicants and staff.
CONSCIA Conscia is critical to BU as our Cisco infrastructure partner, previously known to us as ITGL. Conscia describes itself as aligned to Cisco across networking, security, cloud, AI infrastructure, services and collaboration, which makes it relevant to the AI theme even though it should not be described as an AI software supplier in the same way as ICS. AI. Conscia’ s support for BU’ s core infrastructure has been vital in delivering a resilient, secure and high-performing connectivity architecture that supports the university’ s strategic goals.
