Azure, the Microsoft Cloud computing platform, offers more than 200 products and services across a global network of data centres. It allows customers to build, deploy and manage applications and services. Launched in 2010, it marked a pivotal shift from on-premises datacentres to cloud computing. Azure AI Foundry, which includes more than 11,000 AI models, provides an endto-end AI platform across tools, safety features and monitoring capabilities. These include open and frontier models, the latest from OpenAI, LLMs and the Microsoft Phi family of small language models. Microsoft has invested billions of US dollars into the AI infrastructure that powers Azure. In June 2026, NVIDIA announced that Anthropic’ s new models( running on NVIDIA GB300) in Azure are now generally available within Microsoft Foundry. NVIDIA said the development gives Azure-native enterprises a powerful new way to build autonomous and domain-specific AI agents. aimagazine. com 47
