THE AI INTERVIEW

“We’ re struggling, like everybody else, with access to GPUs, so we’ re looking at alternatives”

Liz Eastaugh Vice President of Global Technology Platforms Just Eat Takeaway. com
Liz says:“ It might be useful for it to say,‘ Actually, now’ s the time to maybe have some protein,’ or,‘ As you get ready for bed, we’ ve seen your biometrics are better if you do this’.”
She envisages AI anticipating everyday needs well before customers even articulate them, from holiday preparations to seasonal essentials.
“ I can see that you’ re off on holiday in five days,” adds Liz, offering a further example of what AI-powered products might say in future.“ Do you have all the things you need? Have you bought sunscreen? Have you got the right size Crocs for the kids?”
She concludes:“ As we move forward on this AI journey, what will be fascinating is how we can integrate quick commerce into the lifestyle fabric of our lives.”
It is a vision shaped by a childhood spent tinkering with cassette-tape games and dog-eared science-fiction novels – and one still being written today.
