AMAZON UNVEILS DEEPFLEET AS AI ROBOT FLEET HITS 1 MILLION
Since introducing its first robot in 2012, Amazon has grown to operate the world’ s largest fleet of industrial mobile robots, recently deploying its one millionth unit.
Marking this milestone, the company also unveiled DeepFleet, a Gen AI foundation model aimed at optimising and managing its expansive robotic fleet.
DeepFleet is designed to cut robot travel times by 10 % across more than 300 Amazon fulfilment centres, directly supporting faster deliveries and reducing operational costs.
Built using AWS tools, including SageMaker, and trained on Amazon’ s extensive inventory movement data, the system exemplifies practical AI application rather than theoretical innovation.
