Adam Selipsky is the incoming CEO of Amazon Web Services ( AWS ), the world ’ s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform . Having previously led AWS marketing , sales , and support for 11 years , from 2005-16 , Selipsky helped launch and grow AWS from a start-up into a multi-billion dollar business . Prior to rejoining AWS in 2021 , Selipsky was most recently president and CEO of Tableau Software . He led Tableau through its acquisition by Salesforce , in what was the third largest software industry acquisition at the time . Selipsky will take the office of Andy Jassy , who is succeeding Jeff Bezos as CEO of parent company Amazon . “ Adam brings strong judgment , customer obsession , team building , demand generation and CEO experience to an already very strong AWS leadership team ,” Jassy said .
